Notice of Public Hearing
LEGAL NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to Section 137 of Chapter 82 of the Laws of 1995, the Viva88Board of Regents will hold a public hearing from 10:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Erie 1 BOCES, Building B, Room B-1 located at 355 Harlem Road, West Seneca, NY 14224.
Public comment will be taken concerning the proposed Master Plan Amendment for Canisius University of Buffalo permitting the college to offer an Associate of Science (A.S.) program in General Science. A Master Plan Amendment is necessary because the proposed program will be the institution’s first associate level program in the discipline area of the biological sciences.
Please note the following:
1) Members of the public who wish to present public comment/testimony during the February 17, 2026 public hearing must register in-person prior to the start of the hearing. Registration will be available from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and is available on a first come, first served basis. There will be twenty five-minute speaking slots available. During the hearing, persons who are providing public comment will be given five minutes to highlight/summarize their testimony and may be asked to respond to questions from the members of the NYS Board of Regents Hearing Panel. One representative per institution/organization is permitted to register and present testimony at the hearing.
2) Members of the public wishing to submit written comments/testimony but not present testimony at the February 17, 2026 hearing may do so by submitting their written testimony (not to exceed 10 pages, double-spaced, including attachments) by email no later than February 17, 2026 to HEDEPCOM@nysed.gov with “Testimony only: Canisius University of Buffalo MPA Hearing” in the subject line.
