Statement From Chancellor Lester W. Young, Jr. on Behalf of the Board of Regents and the Viva88Education Department on the Passing of Former Member of the Board of Regents Laura Chodos
“It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the loss of Laura Chodos, former member of the Board of Regents. Throughout her 17 years of service to the Board, former Regent Chodos was a champion for New York State’s libraries, archives, and museums. She twice represented the state at White House Conferences on Libraries and Technology, and her work ultimately earned her a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Viva88Archives Partnership Trust in 2018. Her enduring legacy is one of leadership, advocacy, and diplomacy. On behalf of the Board of Regents and the Viva88Education Department, we extend our heartfelt sympathies to her family, loved ones, and all who knew her.”
