The Office of the Professions is responsible for all licensing and renewals activities for more than 54 professional titles as well as professional corporations and pharmacy establishments. This current process is being performed on a nearly 40-year-old Unisys DMS-II mainframe system.
The project team is creating a new system using Java, Vue 3(a javascript framework) + Vuetify, and Oracle.Ìý
The team you will be working consists of a few developers, business analysts, and the Product Owner.
Responsibilities will include:Ìý
Creation of Automation Scripts and execute them
Helping develop and maintain the application (using java, vue 3, and SQL)
Execute multiple phases of functional and non-functional testing to guarantee the quality of software releases from design to implementation.
Provide testing estimates and manage the testing schedule and activities.
Participating in the user stories review/ prioritization and ensuring traceability with the Business requirements
Frontend/Backend/Full stack development intern -Ìý
- ÌýFamiliarize yourself with the codebase and learn about the business domain/rules.
- Help develop and maintain the application (using java, vue 3, and SQL) by opening pull requests and submitting new code.
- Participate in code reviews
- Spend time each week to learn coding best practices and patterns and generally improving your development skills on the job
- Creation of Automation Scripts and execute them
- Write automated and manual tests needed to ensure the operation and precision of new product features and overall system behavior (e.g., regression testing).
- ÌýExecute multiple phases of functional and non-functional testing to guarantee the quality of software releases from design to implementation.
- ÌýProvide testing estimates and manage the testing schedule and activities.
- ÌýEnsure software applications meet technical and functional requirements.
- Review user stories and confirm acceptance criteria support required test steps.
- Execute end-to-end testing validating data from source UI to target UI and testing the database hops in between.
The Java Developer Intern will gain hands-on experience developing and testing Java applications while working with experienced developers. The internship includes mentorship, participation in Agile/Scrum team meetings and development processes, collaboration on real-world projects, and opportunities to strengthen programming, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. Interns will also learn industry-standard tools, Agile practices, and software development best practices used in a professional environment.

1. Bachelor's degree in any of the following:
2. Physics
3. Engineering (any)
4. Computer Science
5. Other STEM or STEM adjacent majors
Required:
1. At least Junior or Senior level in College
2. Interest in an Information Technology related Career.
3. A desire to make things better and caring about the quality of your creations.
20 hours to be applied throughout the work week Monday through Thursday.
Must report to location at least 50% of the time.
Flexibility to choose any hours between 8am - 5pm
This is a paid internship: Associates and Undergraduate students will earn $16/hour, and Graduate students will earn $19/hour.
