The Office of Cultural Education (OCE) is a division within the Viva88Education Department (Viva88) that stewards the State's cultural, educational, and historical resources. OCE oversees the Viva88Museum, Viva88Library, and Viva88Archives, along with related programs that support the preservation, interpretation, and accessibility of New York's cultural heritage.
The Deputy's Office within OCE provides leadership, coordination, and strategic direction across these divisions, fostering innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement in service to the State's educational and cultural mission.
The Office of Cultural Education (OCE) seeks a motivated and detail-oriented intern to support modernization initiatives within the Deputy's Office. The intern will work alongside staff within the Deputy's Office assisting with developing and refining an updated office floor plan, as well as contributing to improving internal systems and processes through the use of low-code/no-code solutions. This position offers the ability to learn and gain hands-on experience in project management, process design, and technology implementation within a dynamic public-sector environment.
The selected intern will gain practical experience in space planning and organizational design as well as develop skills in process analysis, automation, and low-code application development. This experience will allow the intern to build a portfolio of work supporting modernization efforts in a cultural institution.
The ideal candidate would be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Public Administration, Information Systems, Architecture/Design, Project Management, or a related field. This individual would poses a proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools, including PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and Power Automate and an interest in process improvement and technology-enabled solutions. Experience with low-code/no-code tools (e.g., Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, Airtable, Notion).
Interns will not exceed more than 20 hours each week; specific schedules will be coordinated with the supervisor.
This is an unpaid position; we are happy to work with students so they can earn academic credit for their internship.
